Travis Bott, Utah: Scam Artist or Business Mogul?

A businessman from Utah, Travis Bott has for a long time portrayed himself as an entrepreneur and innovator in finance, technology, and cryptocurrency. Bott, who claims to have founded or invested in over dozen of private companies, began his entrepreneurial journey at the age of 18. Most of his companies deal with the blockchain and cryptocurrency.
The Public Image
Bott’s public persona is that of a visionary, and he does nothing to counter that image. He promotes his role in Beyond Global where he claims that the company operates in 90 countries and sells financial products like Beyond Wallet Boost, which gives users cashback on transactions. Beyond Global is not Bott’s only venture as he has been reported to be associated with businesses such as DWHTD Technology PTE LTD, CoinZoom, and Lurra Life. I assure you that this is not the end as Bott goes on to showcase his A.I. interests claiming he intends to build tools powered by the tech to aid businesses and individuals. As it stands, he considers himself a devoted entrepreneur, philanthropist and tech leader, at least on social media.
Allegations and Legel Troubles
All of this does make for an appealing image but there is a contrasting reality to it. Wherever he goes, Bott seems to leave behind a trail of controversies and legal troubles. He has been associated with several companies accused of MLM scams and Ponzi schemes. Given his shady actions, it is safe to say that his business ethics is non-existent.
One of the most notable cases is the lawsuit filed by entrepreneur Jas Mathur. Mathur alleges he was defrauded of $1 million in an investment related to the Traders Domain Ponzi scheme. According to Mathur, Bott not only misled him about the investment’s legitimacy but also reportedly threatened him when he sought to recover his funds.
Web of Scams and Fraudulent Ventures
Investigations have linked Bott to a range of companies involved in fraudulent practices, including Ryze AI, Westmyn, Onyx Lifestyle, Digital Profit, Meta Bounty Hunters, and the Meta Labs Agency. The total estimated fraud connected to Bott and his network is a staggering $4.8 million.
- Meta Labs Agency: Allegedly at the center of multiple scams, including MLAgents Community ($4.8 million) and Meta Lab Agency Labs ($2.3 million).
- Family Connections: Several family members, including Richard Jason Bott, Kevin Kernanen, Julie Bott, and Lance Bott, have been linked to fraudulent schemes totalling millions of dollars.
- Ponzi Schemes: Meta Bounty Hunters and MBH Iconics, projects associated with Bott, have been accused of defrauding participants of over $10 million.
- Escrow Fraud: MLAgents Escrow and other parts of the Meta Labs Agency Ponzi network have allegedly scammed participants for around $1.4 million.
The Bigger Question
While Bott still claims to be a front runner in technology and finance, these persistent allegations against him undermine his entrepreneurial assertions. The question still remains, is Bott a businessman trying to create a new paradigm, or is he an underlying sophisticated con artist masquerading as an entrepreneurial innovator?
With the growing accusations and financial losses tied to his business operations, these allegations, though troubling, do seem consistent in nature. This brings forth an important concern to the wider business society: What counteractive measures must be employed to stop such situations from occurring, and how do we protect the investors from these overshadowed fraudulent activities?
As Bott’s case is still under investigation, it sure serves as a reminder to the many would-be investors that not all high return investment opportunities are genuine. His case highlights the need for greater scrutiny to be placed on the accountability and corporate governance alongside ethical standards within business activities, particularly in finance and technology.
